Janet Forsyth is an established artist in her Southwestern Ontario community. She has had a passion for painting all of her life working in almost every media. Her large oil murals grace several churches in Canada, Korea and Hawaii. Her greatest satisfaction, however, is in the challenge of watercolours. |
It has been her pleasure to organize and escort artist workshops under the tuition of professional instructors to United Kingdom, Portugal, Mexico, Virgin Islands, Italy, Greek Isles , Hawaii and Eastern and Western Canada, etc. She has had several one woman shows and won awards at juried Eye For Art. Since taking etching courses in England she has produced single and multiple plate etchings.
Janet was honoured to be commissioned to paint the portrait of Malietoa Tanu Mafilia ll, King of Western Samoa traveling to Samoa for the presentation. Also she her painting “Wetlands Retreat” was chosen by Ducks Unlimited, Erie-St. Clair.
She has a sensitivity for the nostalgic which has evolved into production of several lithographic prints of historic interest.
Janet has, more recently, satisfied her lifelong desire to write for children. Having graduated from the Institute For Children’s Literature she has published and illustrated two children’s story books as well as an art and old and new recipes book “Use The Sunday Dishes”. |
